Sweet Suprise Birthday

I’m thrilled to join the Skipping Stones DT today for our monthly Stamp and Share Challenge! Make sure to visit the SSD Blog to see what the rest of the team created and share your cards at the link up.

We’re doing an “Anything Goes” challenge so anything you create is welcome and we’d love to see your cards and projects!

For my card today I pulled out the Birthday Donuts stamp set. I have been obsessed with my new Zig watercolor markers so of course I had to use them to color this sweet birthday card.

Donut birthday

I started off by stamping the donut in black Momento Ink onto watercolor paper, and colored in the donut and sprinkles along with adding gray shadow underneath with the watercolor markers. The sentiment was stamped in Coastal Cabana ink and the watercolor paper was mounted onto a Coastal Cabana cardstock base.

I added Dazzling Details (like Stickles) to the top of the donut for added texture, shine and fun. Glittery donuts are the best - right?! ;) I topped off the card with Coastal Cabana twine for a sweet and simple card.

Come join us for fun and show us your “Anything Goes” cards on the SSD Blog!

Happy BDAY

I’m always in need of birthday cards. I like to keep a stack on hand for when the kids are heading to a friends birthday party, but am not the best about giving them out myself! New goal  for next year.

 Happy BDAY

Manly and boy cards can be tricky. Not a lot of bling or embellishments and neutral colors are generally safe bets, but can be kind of boring, right?  I loved the color combo from Nacho Average Challenge of Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Pistachio Pudding, and thought it would be perfect to use to whip up some birthday cards for my stash.

Happy BDAY Close Up

I started with a Soft Sky card base, and stamped the letters from the What’s Your Type set to spell out BDAY onto Whisper White cardstock. The “happy” came from a past Paper Pumpkin kit. After the stamped image panel was adhered to the card base I added some Pistachio star sequins to the card front.

Super CAS (clean and simple), a little graphic and easy/fun to create – totally my kind of card! The colors can also be changed to match a recipients favorite colors.

Also linking up to Seize the Birthday for their anything goes birthday challenge, and to Addicted to Stamps for their CAS challenge.

Hooray for Today!

A Saturday post? This is unreal right?! So needless to say I have been super inspired by some challenges to create and share my cards on a more frequent basis, woo hoo!

So today, I have a card that is bold. Because I said so. And because CASology had a cue card that said make it bold.  I’m a people pleaser so I did what they said, and because I wanted to.

 Hooray for Today

I shared this card with some new friends and I think they liked it! It’s bold in the fact that it’s a white card base with some bright and bold colors. Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Strawberry Slush are the ink colors along with the Kaleidoscope patterned paper to create a pretty geometric look. No surprise the triangles and sentiment are from the Geometric stamp set. ;) Also used the new triangle punch that coincides with Geometric. They were meant to be, yes?

PS – White is super hard for me, sorry if it’s hard to see in the photo! I should make it a goal to get better at pics!

This could easily be a birthday card, a congratulations card, a retirement card or anything else you think a “hooray” applies to. That’s the versatility of this sentiment, and maybe a factor of my laziness in repurposing cards, HA! Regardless, someone deserves a giant hooray!

I hope today is a “hooray” day for some of our wrestlers! It would be amazing to see some high placers, but we’ll at least see some amazing matches!

Scripted Happy Birthday

My friend Sharon still hasn’t received this card although I’ve seen her a handful of times since her birthday in August. Sharon, I’ll get this to you eventually, but at least you can see it here today. :)

Scripted Happy Birthday Sharon loves bright colors but I wanted to make her a sweet and dainty card. Sharon got me into stamping so I wanted to make a special card for her. I did some heat embossing onto vellum and on the flowers used a dauber to add color from an ink pad, I just love this technique!

Happy birthday friend, sorry I’m such a slacker. But I know you love me anyway.
