This week I’m sharing cards and projects that spotlight the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP that can be found in the Spring Catalog.
Today I am showing the card we made at one of my workshops in March (thanks for hosting Heidi!) and has a few different pieces of the super cute DSP on it. I fell in love with the pinwheel die and at only $4.95 it was a steal, so I worked with the die and the dsp to create a fun spinner card.
If you’re not familiar with this technique you can view it here, but make it easier on your self and use the Word Window punch for the slit.
The magic and wow of this card is the pennies help the spinner roll across the slit created by the punch. You can see it in action below!
I let the ladies choose how they would color in the embossed cloud background. They could either sponge it on (right) or ink up the embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot (left) to create blue in the sky with the embossed clouds.
A message is “hidden” in the slit and plays fun with the pinwheel. The Wishes Your Way stamp set (also in the Spring Catalog) pairs perfectly and has great sentiments for this pinwheel and birthday greetings.
The pinwheel and the strip that was punched with the scallop border punch came from the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP shown below. I love that it’s double sided so you can do unique things like having two sides on the pinwheel!
