Joyful Christmas Wishes

I got back into my stamping groove on Sunday and came up with this card for the  Create with Connie & Mary sketch challenge and combined it with the Fab Friday color challenge.

Joyful Christmas Wishes

The colors at Fab Friday are Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Gumball Green and I played up the Cabana as my primary color, followed by red and then green using black and white for my neutrals. The DSP is from the Eastern Elegance pack and for the strip on the side I used the diagonal lines stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to mimic a candy cane.

Joyful Christmas Close up

The ornaments were stamped from the Ornament Keepsakes set and the sentiment is from the Joyful Christmas stamp set. I finished it off with a strip of silver glimmer paper and a (retired) red button.

I really loved the rounder corners on the sketch and like that little detail it adds to the overall card. Thanks for the great sketch and color challenge CCMC and FF!

Wishing You a Merry Christmas

It’s December, can you believe it?! Although I’m still working on getting our tree up I’m excited to start sharing some holiday cards!

The sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches got me in the mood for a fun holiday card and I whipped out some of my favorite goodies to put it together yesterday.

Wishing you a Merry ChristmasI started with a Pool Party base and stamped an image from Ornament Keepsakes for the background. I layered on a strip of Winter Frost DSP and die cut two stamped ornaments.

Wishing You Close Up I switched up the sketch a little bit and layered the silver glimmer strips and sentiment strip over the panel, and  cut the glimmer paper so it was thicker on the opposite sides for a different look. The sentiment came from the November Paper Pumpkin kit, definitely glad I still get the kit each month to have this fun stamp!

Here’s the sketch my card was based on/inspired by! Thanks FMS team!

Thankful

I have a simple and a bit elegant card to share today. I’m a pretty fortunate girl and have a pretty great life. :) I’m thankful on most days, and on a day like today where we give our thanks it’s even more special to be appreciative of our blessings in life.

Leafy Thanks

I might be a little obsessed with the Silver Glimmer Paper from Stampin’ Up! and the new color Smoky Slate. Paired together, these make me so happy! Check it -

Leafy Thanks

There’s a few different elements on this card that I just love besides the glimmer paper and the gray card base! The ruffled ribbon, the simple background border and the pop of green from the leaf. Just a happy little card and one to add to my stash. :)

Supplies:

CS: Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer Paper

Ink: Smoky Slate, Pear Pizzaz, Basic Black

Stamp: Woodgrain, Mosiac Madness (border), Secret Garden (leaf), Lovely Little Labels (sentiment)

Misc: Strawberry Slush ruffle trim, rhinestone basic jewel

Scripted Happy Birthday

My friend Sharon still hasn’t received this card although I’ve seen her a handful of times since her birthday in August. Sharon, I’ll get this to you eventually, but at least you can see it here today. :)

Scripted Happy Birthday Sharon loves bright colors but I wanted to make her a sweet and dainty card. Sharon got me into stamping so I wanted to make a special card for her. I did some heat embossing onto vellum and on the flowers used a dauber to add color from an ink pad, I just love this technique!

Happy birthday friend, sorry I’m such a slacker. But I know you love me anyway.

Supplies

CS: Pistachio Pudding, Neutrals White, Smoky Slate, Vellum

Ink: VersaMark, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride

Stamps: En Francis background, Remembering Your Birthday (sentiment), Papillon Potpourri, Secret Garden

Misc: Secret Garden framelits, Vintage faceted designer button, white bakers twine,  Delicate Doilies Sizzlits, Doily, White embossing powder, sequins

Spoil Yourself Today

It has been just a littllleeee while since I’ve been on the blog-o. ;) Forgive my absence as I promise I’ll be posting quite a bit more this week. :)

Things got a little crazy busy around here with fun stuff like Convention (which I will finally be sharing this week!), the kiddos coming back from Florida and my Momma visiting for a few days, to then rolling into Football try-outs and practice and getting the kids ready for back to school. So needless to say we’ve been going full speed and soaking up the rest of summer as much as we could!

To get back into blogging how about a card? This was made for my friend LeeLa for her birthday!

Spoil Yourself

My mom and dad also recently had their birthdays but of course I didn’t take pics before giving them to my mom, haha.

Alright, now to finish working on my giant Convention post! ;)

Silhouette Leaf Birthday

Before we went on vacation I had some time to play in my studio and came up with a couple cards just for fun. Sometimes those are the best kinds to make! :)

Happy Birthday Silhouette Leaf SU I didn’t get the best picture of this one, but I wanted to create a simple card with a nature feel to it based on the leaf die cut from the Secret Garden Framelits set. I used Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip and Calypso Coral for this card.

Silhouette Leaf close up

The detail just doesn’t quite come across but I used my score tool and added diagonal lines across the card base. The finishing touch was a bit of baker’s twine wrapped around the focal image.

Now I just need to finish up some swaps before Stampin’ Up! Convention on Thursday!

Supplies:

CS: Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand

Ink: Chocolate Chip

Stamps: From the Heart

Misc: Secret Garden Framelits, Chocolate Chip Baker’s twine, score tool
