I could totally use a beach day right about now. Rest, relaxation, tropical breezes and a fruity drink with an umbrella all sound like heaven! We’re in the middle of planning a trip to Hawaii (I won the fitness competition at work, recap towards the bottom of the post) and have picked Maui as the destination! Jake and I are looking to go around October since we’re a little preoccupied with kids and sports and summer at the moment, but since I’m dreaming of sandy beaches and a beautiful sky why not make a scrapbook layout to display future pictures now?! :)
Layout was totally inspired by the color combo of Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar and Hello Honey at Create with Connie & Mary, the Beach theme at The Paper Players and the Sky theme at Addicted to CAS.
I started with a 12x12 White base and sponged on Baked Brown Sugar for the sand and Coastal Cabana for the sky. To create the look I tore a piece of cardstock and used the edge for sponging. To create dimension I sponged with the edge over different areas and then went back in with the sponge to “fill in” the blank spots.
I kept the details pretty simple to go with the CAS theme and added the title using cut files and my Cameo. I used an older SU paper clip, a Baked Brown Sugar embellishment and new supplies in the patterned paper strip and Coastal Cabana thick baker’s twine.
Hoping I have some gorgeous pictures to add to this layout in a few months! :)
