Nailing that Pinterest pin

I’m sure some of you can relate to this….

You find an awesome pin on Pinterest and can’t wait to try it out.

You realize after going to the link from the photo there aren’t any directions, just the photo of said pin.

You figure it can’t be too hard to figure out and decide to wing it since it’s just balsamic vinegar, onions and gorgonzola cheese.

You get the ingredients the next time you are at the store and think it can’t be too hard.

You think to yourself that while you’re at it you can take some of the guesswork out of this for any other future pinners since there weren’t any directions on this and take photos of your progress. You learn later that this isn’t such a great idea.

So, you get your onions drizzled in olive oil and sprinkled with salt before you wrap it up in foil and grill it.

Then, once it’s done grilling you slice the onions up but realize that after two very full glasses of wine, this isn’t working quite well. It might be the onions, it might be the wine to blame, or it just might be you and your lack of culinary talent.

You plow forward though and have to melt your gorgonzola in the microwave (because you could only find chunk/crumbled gorgonzola) in order to add that perfect little dollop onto your onion. After burning your hand with the crazy hot microwave melted cheese, you hand it over to your sober husband to finish up.

You drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the onions and step back thinking it doesn’t look so bad. You realize later that was just the wine talking.
